What I’m Reading Now

booksI have always been fascinated by other people’s lives. As a child, I read about girls that went to summer camp in the woods, away from their families. Or girls that spent their summers on Cape Cod picking blueberries – lives so different from my Chinese American life in Salinas, California. I read to get a glimpse of how other people lived, what they ate, what they did for fun. As an adult, I am drawn to memoirs. And after my husband’s brain injury, I devoured memoirs about illness, trauma and caregiving. I’m still big on memoirs but every now and then I like a good novel or story. Here’s what is currently on my shelves, waiting to be read.

  1. Cynthia — I recommend “What Remains” — the memoir by Carole Radziwill, who was married to john kennedy jr.’s cousin. She was a caregiver…..and its beautifully written.
